I'm loving Japanese, I really think so
I must admit I have walked past this restaurant many times and not taken much notice, but TetsuAki Restaurant is indeed a hidden treasure tucked away on the Esplanade at Paradise Point and a restaurant worth writing about.
Friends mentioned that they wouldn't mind a Japanese meal up the northern end of the coast and I instantly thought of TetsuAki.
Serving modern Japanese cuisine TetsuAki Japanese Restaurant is a fabulous restaurant to try. Don't be fooled by the by the glass facade at the front. Open the door and and you are instantly greeted warmly and shown to a beautifully presented table. The serviettes folded to resemble a Kimono were a nice touch.
On the menu there is so much to choose from and prices I thought were reasonable. There is the option of choosing a Banquet, Sushi, Sashimi, Bento Boxes, Donburri plus many more. We chose the Donburri - Syoga Yaki Don which is Soy sauce ginger marinade pork served with lettuce, Oyako Katsu Don (crumbed crispy chicken with egg & onion sauce), and a Bento Box, Katsu Bento (crumbed crispy chicken with barbecue sauce). The Donburri came with miso soup, rice and choice of dish. From $18 it was a good size meal and exceptionally good value, I had forgotten how nice a good cup of miso soup was. The Bento Box looked divine and from all accounts, it was.
