Sat 09 Feb 2019 - Sun 10 Feb 2019

The Tet festival runs for two days, on the 9th and 10th of February 2019. Tet is the Vietnamese New Year and roughly coincides with the Chinese New Year. It is a local community event sponsored by the Port Adelaide Enfield Council.

Entry is $5 (pre-purchase) or $8 at the gate for adults and $2 for children (6-12 years, pre-purchase) or $3 at the venue. Children under 6 years and seniors over 65 receive free entry.

Gates open at midday at the Regency Park Reserve, Days Road
Regency Park SA, next to the golf course. We attended last year because I love cultural celebrations. There were sideshows and rides for children, as well as Vietnamese information stands.

One display was a memorial or history of the Vietnam war. It was difficult to understand because it was in Vietnamese, but I was thrilled to see our country acknowledging this issue in history.

There were a number of stalls selling authentic Vietnamese food, and the stage was busy with song and dance performed by local school children and various other artists.
