It runs from September 16 to October 13th at Tesselaar Tulip Farm amidst the fabulous fresh air of the Dandenong Ranges in Silvan, under an hour from Melbourne. That's a whole four weeks of opportunities, so being too busy, and a whole myriad of other excuses, just don't cut it I'm afraid.
It features over half a million (yes, half a million) brilliant blooms stretching row upon glorious row of mesmerising colour. It's kind of like the rainbow landed in Silvan's fields with an explosion of colour except there are more colours. Take a look.
Wander through this place of fantasy. Tiptoe, walk or run the kids sure do. Or traverse it on the back of a tractor for a real farm experience that's terribly fun and somewhat bumpy. Look out for some very interesting sculptures along the way.
If flowers aren't your thing (and, really, it's not just about flowers, it's about the brilliant beauty of nature and life), there's plenty more going on, including fun-filled themed weekends, live music and entertainment for every age and taste, stalls to browse, and plenty of good food and wine.
Here are a few highlights, but the program's jam-packed so check it out in full here:
The Turkish Weekend is on September 19th & 20th. Belly dance to your heart's desire! It's on with the clogs for all things Dutch on the following weekend, while the Food, Wine & Jazz Weekend on October 3rd & 4th is a fusion of groove, gastronomy and grapes in the garden.
Look out for leprechauns on the weekend after that, where the luck of the Irish will have you enjoying a fantastic weekend of Irish singing, dancing and more.
There are special Children's Days, Senior's Days every Friday, and Pink Lady Day (October 8th), when 25% of gate proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Network Australia and ladies receive a complimentary glass of bubbly on entry. Yum.
