A lie can run around the world before the truth has got its boots on. This quote comes from the incredible book The Truth, by the late Terry Pratchett. And the book is a wonderful read. And if you're a fan of the book, or in fact, any of his books, then you are not going to want to miss this stage version. Combining many of the best-known and most loved Discworld worlds, and adapted from the book by Stephen Briggs, and this version of The Truth is going to be an epic performance for the everyone.



Terry Pratchett was an incredible author, who wrote more than 50 novels and sold more than 85 million books in 37 different languages. His work won so many different awards too. The Discworld novels are so incredible and there is definitely something that would suit everyone. The books are full of layers, nuance and more. With so many books within the Discworld, you don't need to read them in order, as some of the older ones might not be as appealing as the later ones. There can be witches, vampires, policemen, corruption, power, and more all in one novel.

In The Truth, we find the character, William de Worde, who becomes the accidental editor of the first newspaper of Discworld. With some help from two dwarves, William finds himself being hunted, even though he just wants to find the Truth. Which might not be as easy as possible.

This incredible novel is brought to life thanks to the team at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre. And it's an amazing show, whether you're a fan of Terry Pratchett or just a fan of wonderful theatre.

If you want to witness the show, you are going to want to book tickets. Tickets are $28.30 per person, cheaper for kids or concessions. The show begins on Friday, the 30th of June and runs until Saturday, 8th of July. The show starts at 7:30pm and runs until 10pm for most shows, but there are some matinees available too. Prepare to be blown away and to learn the Truth.
