Keep learning, keeping growing, and keep on having fun
Soul Pantry is a Garden and Gift Store that has recently relocated to Stafford. Working out of a converted warehouse, which includes a cafe with outdoor seating and children's play area ( including a teepee), Soul Pantry's biggest attraction for me is its delivery of a diverse range of workshops.

I love participating in workshops. Workshops allow you to sample new experiences and enhance the knowledge base. They provide an opportunity to meet and socialise with people with similar interests. Most importantly, as in my case, you can learn a new skill quickly, which is vitally important if you have a short attention span.

Some of the interesting workshops on offer include learning how to make macrame hangings for pot plants, or a mossy ball covered with string in which to grow a plant, Japanese style, called kokedama. There are even workshops for those with an interest in cheese. I kid you not. Here are the current scheduled workshops:

I was gifted a voucher for my birthday and opted to attend a Terrarium Workshop which was a fun experience. Patricia, the instructor, was friendly and only too happy to share her years of hands on experience in this field to the ten participants.

How gorgeous are these?

The workshop area is at the rear of the retail space so you can focus on the task at hand. We each followed the process, starting from scratch, and gaining lots of information along the way. Two hours later, each of us had a beautiful garden in a glass jar to take home, as well as enthusiasm for our new skill. Interestingly, despite all starting with the same resources and tools, our gardens reeked of individualism.

I look forward to trying my hand at something new down the track. Oh, and I will leave you with this tip: you can order a coffee at the cafe which will be delivered to you at the workshop. How civilised is this!

Soul Pantry is located at 31 Wolverhampton Street, Stafford, and has off street parking.
