The top notch award-winning Terrace Seafood Restaurant in Maleny
Father's Day was upon us and my 'other' half was definitely in the mood for seafood. Rather than do the usual, and head down to the Mooloolaba Wharf for
The Dock at The Wharf, or
See Restaurant for the ever-changing water views, we decided that a trip into the picturesque Sunshine Coast hinterland, might make for a nice change.

Tranquil water feature inviting diners in
On our previous visit to Maleny when we had a delicious breakfast at
The Orangery, I spied
The Terrace Seafood Restaurant in the same complex, smack bang in the hinterland of Maleny, with spectacular views to the coastline. Another big decider was that every time a Sunny Coaster makes enquiries for excellent seafood,
The Terrace Seafood Restaurant in Maleny invariably comes out top of the pops!
A first-hand experience recommendation is the best there is!

Arty wall displays
Terrace Seafood Restaurant has a welcoming ambience, promising exquisite seafood, fine wine and the unsurpassed views over the green valleys, to the ocean. My initial impression was that this fine dining restaurant fulfilled all of the above … plus more.

Just look at those views!
When I 'phoned through for a lunch reservation and mentioned that a table close to an outside door, would be preferable for my master four grandson, who might want to stage a 'quick getaway',
The Terrace Seafood Restaurant were most accommodating ensuring that we were positioned close to not one, but two external doors.
This fine restaurant boasts a very comfy lounge area for those diners happy to wait for a table or perhaps enjoy a drink, whilst waiting for dining companions.

Comfy lounge area
Our table was beautifully set out with clean, crisp white table linen. Recently I read about a research experiment that was organised in specific restaurants, where on one hand diners had the crispy, clean white linen settings and the alternate diners had an average place mat. Both sets of diners had exactly the same meal and it transpired that when one's dining table is decorated with crisp, white linen, the diners enjoyed and rated their food quality more highly. Isn't that an interesting outcome? And one I totally agree with - the table decor seems to set the mood.

Crisp white linen always sets the mood
The wait staff at
The Terrace Seafood Restaurant were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel as if we were the only diners in the restaurant.
Our celebratory Dad went with an
Entree of
Coffee Bay Oysters au naturelle. Daughter and I thought we would prefer to save 'tummy space' for dessert.
Our
Mains were a diverse choice:
Mediterran (not sure if this is supposed to be Mediterranean)
Marinated Barbecued Chicken, cranberry, fire roasted capsicum and almond quinoa with tzatziki (GF) $32 (
verdict: fabulous)

Our diverse choice of Mains
A
Signature Dish of
Whole Crispy Wok Fried Reef Fish, topped with a Sweet and Sour Chilli Coriander sauce, accompanied by coconut rice, pickled pink ginger and salad $49 (
verdict: delicious); and
Fresh Salmon Fillet, served with chips (or rustic sweet potato chips), lime hollandaise and salad $36 plus $2 extra for the sweet potato chips (
verdict: salmon cooked to perfection and the sweet potato chips were totally more-ish)

For the littlies in our life
The Terrace Seafood Restaurant have a Chefs Nippers Menu for the littlies in our lives and also have Gift Certificates available for purchase. With Christmas just around the corner, what a superb idea for the food lovers in the family.
Terrace Seafood have
desserts to die for, with everything from
Brandy Baskets to palette cleansing sorbets.

Terrace Brûlée
Daughter's choice was the hard-to-beat
Terrace Brûlée - a Madagascan vanilla bean Brûlée, served with house-made biscotti; and my choice was the totally divine
Baked Summer Pudding - mixed berry Bread and Butter pudding served with vanilla Anglaise, warm berries and vanilla ice cream. It's a pity that
just dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner in today's society would be frowned upon, but the dessert menu at
The Terrace Seafood Restaurant, is truly worthy of enjoying three times a day!

Baked Summer Pudding
The Terrace Seafood Restaurant is without a doubt, a special celebration restaurant. So if you're planning a special birthday, an anniversary, a hen's, or even a baby shower, let the very attentive staff at
The Terrace Seafood know at the time of booking, and they will very happily decorate your table/s with ribbons, sprinkles and even a card, worthy of your special 'date'.

A special celebration restaurant, worthy of your special 'date'
