This fiesta goes on for a whole week - full of food and fun
This event will be a week-long fiesta of tacos, tequila, live entertainment, "My Taco Rules" championship, charity street-art battles plus of course, a HOT chilli eating contest!

This will be the first ever Taco & Tequila Fiesta and it will commemorate Cinco De Mayo.

Cinco De Mayo is an annual holiday in Puebla, Mexico and it recognises the unlikely victory of the Mexican army over the French army on 5th May 1862 under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza.

You will be taken from Southern California down the coast to Mexico for daily pop up of events:

Saturday 5th May - Cinco de Mayo Party
The first day and every day will start with the Taco & Tequila Fiesta, and to begin the event there is a Mexican soirée that begins from midday.

Senors and senoritas can enjoy Olmeca ALTOS Margarita specials, free flower crowns by The Flower Social, with Margarita purchases between 12 noon and 2:30 pm, followed by Mexican-themed live music and dancing late into the night!

Sunday 6th May - Acustico Sunday Session
On this Sunday there will be a Spanish themed unplugged "acoustic" session.

There will be free flower crowns designed by The Flower Social from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm with every Margarita purchase.

There will also be live music from 2.00 pm until 6.00 pm, with ALTOS Olmeca cocktail specials all day.

Monday 7th May - My Taco Rules - Competition
Applejack venues SoCal Sydney, The Botanist Kirribilli, Endeavour Tap Rooms and The Butler Potts Point will compete to be named the Taco & Tequila Champions!

The SoCal terrace will be transformed into a Masterchef style kitchen where the teams will battle it out in front of a panel of judges to prepare their special taco and Olmeca ALTOS tequila creations. This should be great fun and organisers are hoping there will be no "in fighting" and all will go smoothly unlike the television show!

Tuesday 8th May - All you can eat Tacos
Make sure you do not eat beforehand as there will be the ever-popular $30 "all you can eat" tacos plus the $10 Margies night!

As well as all the tacos, there will be a special appearance by a Mariachi band plus a Mexican dancer.

However, this event is FULLY BOOKED, and they can only accept walk-ins on a first come, first served basis - so make sure you get there early for this fabulous bargain, food and drinks, or you can phone them on 2 9904 5691.

Wednesday 9th May - Charity Live Street - Art Battle
This will be the first ever street-art battle! Artists will produce live art in a fully immersive art and dine experience.

Artworks will be then auctioned at the end of the night and all proceeds will be going to the artist's charity of choice.

Thursday 10th May - Chilli Eating Contest
Participants go through 8 plus rounds, with the chillis getting increasingly hotter for each round, until they physically cannot go on anymore!

The winner will be "immortalized" in SoCal history, and will also win a great prize!

Spicy Margaritas will be available all night, with your choice of a "spice-o-meter scale". How HOT will you go?

You will need to register here quickly as there are only 15 people who will be chosen for this competition.

Friday 11th May - Taco and Tequila Feast
SoCal Taco & Tequila Fiesta 2018 are bringing you the ultimate degustation menu.

This will conclude the week-long Fiesta and organisers have created a bespoke taco and tequila degustation menu, which will be available to book in for one day and night only.

The menu will include the winning taco and tequila cocktail from the My Taco Rules! Championship which will be held earlier in the week.

Cost of this will be $65 per person with a minimum of four people per booking. Bookings are essential and can be made here.

The menu will be as follows:
Course One - TACO: Ceviche of tuna and kingfish, pasilla chilli, black beans, avocado, lime crema, black sesame (gf)

TEQUILA: Jalapeno infused Blanco Tequila, spiced tomato consume lime, black pepper, salt

Course Two - TACO: Morton Bay Bug, burnt butter, pickled carrot, charcoal eggplant, coriander (gf)

TEQUILA: Reposado Tequila, apricot brandy, lime, orgeat, coriander root

Course Three - TACO: Grilled tofu, white onion kimchi, miso dressing, corn, cucumber, slaw (gf, vegan)

TEQUILA: Blanco Tequila, pineapple, cucumber, lime

Course Four - TACO: Habanero beef cheek, sweetcorn custard, pickled red onion, puffed rice (df)

TEQUILA: Blanco Tequila, fresh pear, lemon, ginger, aquafaba

Course Five - TACO: Bunuelos, crispy tortilla, vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche, agave praline

TEQUILA: Vanilla infused Reposado Tequila, Kahlua, coconut agave, espresso

Also available during the month of May, the Group Executive Chef, Jason Roberson, has teamed up with renown pastry chef, Andy Bowdy of Enmore's Saga to create a deliciously devious Mexican Sundae dessert!

This very yummy dish will be available exclusively at SoCal for the month of May.
