Do come here for the fun of teppanyaki
Teppankai is a new Japanese place just off Chapel St, in South Yarra. It is situated behind the Jam Factory outlet.

The restaurant participates in many Japanese festivals and the last one they did was at North Melbourne Town Hall at the end of 2013.
Kani Maki

Although the restaurant is owned by a Malaysian, it offers authentic Japanese cuisine. And although some bloggers didn't like the place, I loved it.

Watching the teppanyaki chef doing his thing was fun and is the highlight of restaurant. The meal was great.

Everything was fresh. Although they do meat, they also cater for vegetarians like myself.

Do order the Kani Maki (deep fried sushi roll) as it is tantalising. At the start of the teppanyaki you will be given a cold spinach and mushroom entree.

If you don't like the thought of teppanyaki, there are other foods that you can order at lunch time, such as Donburi and Bento boxes.

Their Green tea ice cream is divine and is to die for.

Do visit the place at lunchtime, as they have many lunchtime specials. Also if you go to a Japanese festival, do look out for them as they might have their wagyu beef bento on offer!
