A range of options for casual tennis around town
Tennis is a great way to get fit and spend time with friends. There are several affordable venues in Melbourne for casual court hire, and some clubs also provide lessons and coaching.

Boroondara Tennis Centre

This venue has 23 flood-lit courts, club house, and change rooms. There is also a shop, child care, and gazebos for events. This tennis centre is located in Balwyn North at the corner of Thompsons and Bulleen Road.

Courts are generally $28 to $36 per hour to hire, and coaching is also available at an additional cost.

North Box Hill Tennis Club

This venue is not for public hire, but is used by members, for coaching, and for events. You can, however, attend with a member at the cost of $5 per adult. The courts are at 24 Elizabeth Street, in Box Hill North.

There are bus routes that stop near the venue, and plenty of parking nearby.

Maribyrnong City Council Tennis Courts

There are 11 courts available at various locations across the Maribyrnong area. These are at Braybrook Park, Cruickshank Park, Henry Turner Memorial Reserve South, Johnson Resarve, and Yarraville Oval. Details available on the Maribyrnong City Council website.

lt is free to play although there are no other facilities besides the courts.
