I think I'm retired, but I'm busier than ever. Life is full of surprises.
New Farm State School is the venue for the Brisbane Teneriffe Lions Book Sale on Saturday 19 May from 8 am-1 pm. Entry is free. Bargain hunters, bring your baskets, browse and be prepared to buy books at give-away prices. There's even a coffee van if you need a coffee jag to keep working your way through the 5000 books.

The book sale will assist two charities assisting children and families: Aunties and Uncles QLD and Ronald McDonald House SEQ.

New Farm State School is located at Corner of James St & Heal St, New Farm. Buses 196 and 199 (Adelaide Street Stop 20) will take you to Barker Street (Stop 9). It is only a short walking distance to the school. Check out when planning your journey from home.

If travelling by car, on-street parking is available in the surrounding streets. In some areas of New Farm, there are parking restrictions. So be prepared and check out here before leaving home. Be careful not to park across driveways or property access points.

Aunties and Uncles QLD offers each child time, attention and other support to vulnerable and socially isolated children aged 1-11 years.

Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland provides a home for families (living outside Brisbane) to support their hospitalised seriously ill children.

Further details for these organisations are available at and

Should you have books that need a new home, Teneriffe Lions Club will gratefully include them in the sale. Contact to arrange a drop-off or collection.
