Having moved from Thailand to Brisbane, my family and I are constantly on the lookout for authentic Thai food. Last weekend we found ourselves roaming around Milton for a family gathering. Strolling down the heart of Park Road, admiring the beautiful lights and Brisbane's buzzing night life, we stumbled upon .
The restaurant includes a beautiful ambience that is rich in culture, reminding us very much of our home back in Thailand. They have a shady verandah with outdoor seating, and another air conditioned indoor seating area which provides perfect respite from the sub-tropical heat. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with paintings and sculptures that reflect Thai culture.
A Tuk Tuk Bar is also included in the outdoor verandah, making this a venue perfect for functions and gatherings. The exotic and authentic style of atmosphere makes it a perfect go-to outdoor party setting.
Our waitress greeted us with a warm "Sawadeeka" which translates to "Hello" in English. Having walked into such a grand and luxurious looking restaurant, we expected the food to be expensive; however we were mistaken and found that the food was quite affordable. I ordered vegetarian spring rolls as an entrée, Panang Curry as my main. The spring rolls were cooked with crisp perfection and included a nice touch of the distinct Thai flavors. The Panang Curry had a good balance between the coconut cream and spiciness. The servings were also fairly generous, allowing for us to share different dishes among each other.
A takeaway menu is also offered by Temple Thai making it convenient for busy people to still enjoy these exquisite dishes. I have been to Thai restaurants all over Brisbane and can whole heartedly say that Temple Thai surpasses them all. The service and friendly staff made our experience pleasant and memorable.
