Enjoy the latest movies under the stars for a good cause
With the cold winter nights well and truly behind us, it's time to get the bean bags out and stuff your face with snacks as you enjoy a movie under the stars.
The Telethon Community Cinemas are back for another year, starting from Thursday, 29 November at Burswood, Friday, 30 November at Bassendean and Thursday, 13 December at Murdoch. This year, there will also be a mysterious new cinema happening somewhere within the Vincent area! These movies will start on Sunday, 23 December.
Perth's favourite community cinemas will screen a range of current blockbusters, all in the name of charity. All proceeds of the screenings are distributed for charities for kids through Telethon, so you can enjoy your film and know you are doing your bit for the community.
Going to the movies just isn't the same without a snack or two. The Telethon Community Cinemas will be offering a range of meals, sweet treats and snacks, including pizza, cheese packs, pies and at the Burswood venue, a sausage sizzle for just 3.50! There are vegetarian and gluten-free options available, such as gluten-free pizza bases.
I don't know about you, but I love a glass of wine with my cinema. You can also purchase a range of wines by the glass or bottle, ciders and beers by the stubby, pre-mixed spirits and teas and coffees. You can view the full range of food and drinks here, but you can also BYO food and non-alcoholic drinks.
Each cinema will offer bean bag lounges to hire for $6, or you can BYO bean bag or seating. All venues open at 6:30pm and the movie will start at 7:45pm. Tickets to screening are $14 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $7 for children aged 5 to 15 years and children under 5 are free.
Below is where you will find each cinema and the dates each venue will operate. There are some nights in which screenings will not take place or private screenings are happening, so take a look at the website here.
Burswood: Charles Paterson Park, Resort Drive, Burswood Parklands, just off Great Eastern Highway, Burswood. Movies screen between Thursday, 29 November 2018 and Saturday, 27 April 2019.
