Head to the
Alma Park Zoo on Easter Sunday, March 31 and celebrate with Maly the Sun Bear. Maly is turning five years old this month and the zookeepers are planning a party.
The theme is a teddy bear picnic and all children who bring their teddy bear will gain entry into the zoo for $2 (admission usually costs $27 for children aged 3-12). Maly, the only sun bear in Queensland, will be the guest of honour at this picnic with plenty of fun activities planned. Doctor Heather will be providing free health checks for teddy bears, followed by party favourites like a piƱata, party games, birthday cake, and presents for Maly.
Alma Park Zoo is home to more than two-hundred animals including monkeys, lemurs, reptiles, and Australian native animals. Zookeepers will be making presentations throughout the day. Learn more about sun bears, reptiles, and koalas. Photo opportunities will also be available with the zoo's cuddly koalas, slithering snakes, and snapping crocodiles.
Special guests include representatives from Free the Bears, a not-for-profit organisation, which works throughout Asia to protect, preserve, and enrich the lives of endangered bears like Maly.
Alma Park Zoo opens from 9am until 4pm. Click
