Knitters, crocheters, felters, woodworkers, embroiderers, patchworkers and artisans galore, it's time to pull out every creative stop and show what you can do for the annual Wandin
.
Though only three years young, the
has raised over $13,000; a very impressive achievement. This year the goal is to reach $20,000, so it's time to get creative. Whether it's flowers or animals, Disney inspired characters, robots, cupcakes or dolls; the only limit is your imagination. Tea cosies come in any shape or configuration you can think of, and small soft toys are welcome entries, too. Last year, there was even a tea cosy carved from wood! Let your imagination run wild and test your mettle against some other great artists.
Last year the competition attracted nearly 500 entries and people came simply to marvel and enjoy the creativity and skill. Tea cosies and toys were made from felt, wool, yarn and more and the winners are still on display on the website. The website not only offers inspiration, there are patterns from basic to vintage as well as a modern range and additional links to even more websites and patterns.
Entries for this year's tea cosy competition must be received by 1st July and every entry received is considered a donation toward the cause. During the competition all tea cosies are offered for sale to raise even more money for the Cancer Council charity.
