Performing live at the Aria Awards
The Aria Awards are the Australian music industry's night of nights, a time when industry heavyweights from all genres come together to celebrate the finest musicians that the country has to offer and the highest achievements of the past twelve months.

This star-studded gala event is a chance for the great and good of Australian music (plus the not so great, and the not so good) to mark their achievement with some back slapping, a few glasses of fizzy pop, and a bit of knees up. It's also a chance for we, the Australian public to reflect upon the musical landscape of 2012, to gawk at the celebrities in their party frocks, and to wonder who is going to disgrace themselves and how, this time around. There's always at least one - yes, I'm talking to you, Axle Whitehead.

[ADVERT]It is only fitting then, that this event which celebrates all things musical and Australian, should feature an international artist as the headline act. Enter stage left, a little known (ahem) American chantreuse by the name of Taylor Swift. Multi platinum selling artist and six time Grammy Award winner Ms Swift will no doubt wow the crowd with her vocal stylings, amidst a strong line up of actual Australian artists. Those performing on the night include Guy Sebastian, Kimbra, Missy Higgins, 360, The Temper Trap, Jessica Mauboy, Hiltop Hoods and the Jezabels.
Attendees this year are in for a real treat, as the staging of show and all aspects of the production are promised to be bigger and better than ever this year, so expect great things from Taylor and all the artists performing.

Following some strongly worded 'feedback' about the format and other aspects of previous events there have been a few changes made to proceedings this year. Firstly, the location, with the handily located Sydney Entertainment Centre being the location of choice this year. Another change is that the public will be able to have their say in who takes home an ARIA Award, with four publicly voted awards, including 'Single Of The Year', 'Best Video', 'Best Australian Live Act' and 'Best International Artist'.
