Taxi Kitchen is a bright and airy bar sitting just inside Federation Square. Located right across the road from Flinders Street Station, Taxi Kitchen is perhaps many things to many people.
For starts, long-time Melburnians may use TK as a starting point to meet friends for a night out or even as the main destination. Then, there are of course those who would wish to showcase Melbourne's most prominent sights to those visiting from out of town. For indeed with Southbank's skyscrapers, the Yarra River and the Melbourne Cricket Ground all within view from TK. As well as this, there would of course be many other reasons and many other factors that drawn people to TK.
Yet, whatever the reason, the reality remains the same: this is a great bar. Though some Melburnians - especially given they live in city abundant with great little laneway venues - may view the noted establishment in the tourist hotspot of Fed Square with some suspicion. However, there remains numerous reasons to recommend TK to wider Melbourne.
Undoubtedly the diversity its drinks list is foremost. For indeed it appears to have one of the more diverse selections of beers on tap across the city. Though brews are of course prone to change and rotate. This means that if you are looking for a boutique craft beer from the US - or perhaps a major European label that for some reason is yet to be widely available further afield - there is a good bet this place could have it; or at least something close to leave your taste buds content.
As well as drinks, Taxi Kitchen also lists a wide variety of food. This ranges from straightforward appetisers like house mixed olives with chilli & lemon, to a Chargrilled Wagyu steak with horseradish cream & yakiniku dipping sauce. Therefore, whether just a little hungry or altogether famished, TK could address your appetite.
Taxi Kitchen. A great Melbourne spot for locals and visitors to Melbourne alike with a wide diversity across its menu.
