Tatsuya Restaurant

There's some great eateries around the West Ryde shopping precinct. Two pubs in the area do a roaring trade at lunchtime and after hours. The cafes in the area, such as
Pages Cafe , are often full with customers who have returned again because of the attentive service and tasty food offered.
Our group of seven visited
Tatsuya at West Ryde to farewell a much loved work colleague. Tatsuya is in an unusual position being next door to a service station, Woolworths is across the road, and Coles is two doors from Tatsuya. It's a little like a David in the midst of Supermarket Goliaths. We had never been here before so we were eager to try their Japanese offerings.
We had a shared plate of the Mixed Sushi Platter which we all enjoyed.
Then miso soup arrived which was delicious.
Some ordered the Salmon Teriyaki and others ordered the Chicken Teriyaki. There were mixed comments about the main meals. Some of the meat was dry, for others there was not enough sauce, yet for others, their meal was lovely.
The seafood and vegetable tempura which we all shared was crunchy and tasty and very enjoyable.
Another person tried a seafood dish, the name of which I have forgotten. She said it was a very hearty meal and she would order that dish again.
Our feelings varied about this eating establishment. We all agreed that the Mixed Sushi Platter was a standout dish and the Tempura was very tasty. The service was good and it certainly is quiet inside this little restaurant considering it is on a main road that leads to the shopping area. Some of us thought that we may re-visit Tatsuya's in a few months time to see if some of the main dishes have improved.
