Tatsuo Miyajima's dazzling exhibition, Connect With Everything is running as part of the Sydney International Art Series at the Museum of Contemporary Art from the 3rd of November 2016 till the 5th of March 2017. This is truly a must-see exhibition; the photographs do it no justice.
This display of artistic brilliance features installations and sculptures clad in numbers which light up. There is a focus on time and death as represented by the numbers and colours. In Miyajima's 'Mega Death' (pictured) the blue symbolises infinity, although he states that he views every colour as equal.
There is an important screening of the MCA's interview with Miyajima which plays constantly throughout the exhibition. He discusses the eye opening philosophy behind his works, so take a seat and be mesmerised. You can also find it online.
Miyajima's website is a great place to learn more about his works and philosophy.
Tickets to the event are $22 for adults, $17 for concession, $12 for youths and free for children. It is cheaper to buy a family pass, or if you are a fan of contemporary art why not gain membership to the MCA? One year is only $75 for adults ($50 for students) and you'll have access to every exhibit.
