Tastes of Italy is another project of Cav. Alessandro Sorbello, the founder of 'Italian Week', an annual event held in Brisbane every May.

He is also a founding member of the Academy of Cuisine in Queensland and was the Australian delegate from 2009 to 2013. The Academic was created to protect the immense heritage of Italian food and viticulture.

The first 'World Kitchen' was held in the State Library last June and was a runaway success, so two more are on the calendar for 2015.

Enjoy a morning exploring the tastes of Italy, learn more about the unique cuisine that has been handed down through families over generations, sample wines you may never heard of [they are handpicked for their quality] and olives oils that until now are well kept secrets.

Taste Sicilian Arancini which maybe a new treat for you, and dolce (sweets) that have flavours too good to swallow.

These events are free but bookings are essential as numbers are limited.

There will be music, and what is better than an Italian Serenade?
