Could this be the best value restaurant in Ashfield?
Taste Station Ashfield is most likely the current best-value place to eat in Ashfield if not the entire inner-west of Sydney. Conveniently located just across from the train station at 2 Hercules Street, Ashfield, it specialises in what it calls ‘south east Asian street food’. The lunch special, which costs a very reasonable $11.90 is the best value for money and even comes with a little soup included. It is also a nice touch that you are brought a jug of water as well.
The best time to visit is Monday to Friday between 11am and 3:30pm when the $11.90 lunch special is served. There is plenty of choice of various Thai and Malaysian dishes (plus the free soup).
Not only is the food good quality, but the service is also very quick and my meal was ready in only a couple of minutes or so.
The restaurant looks clean and modern and has several tables which have a nice wooden look and the restaurant has plenty of space.
It is better to pay by cash as there is apparently a small credit card surcharge which is added on, although there was no signage informing of this additional charge, which is against the law.
Its customers’ ratings are impressive with 4.6/5 from 168 Google reviews, 4.8/5 on Uber Eats, 4.3/5 on Menulog and 5/5 on Facebook.
The restaurant doesn't have a website but it does have a Facebook page here
where more information is available.
