Located at Rod Laver Plaza Riverside Park, Quay Street, Rockhampton, Central Queensland Multicultural Association (CQMA) partner with the Rockhampton Regional Council will once again hold the annual Taste of the World Cultural Festival during the multicultural month each year. Held on Saturday, 24 August 2024, starting from 1 pm to 8 pm, you will find food, music, entertainment and more at this FREE entry family-friendly event.

Taste of the World Cultural Festival celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the Rockhampton region by bringing together CALD groups to share their culinary talents, cultural backgrounds, entertainment and information with everyone in the Rockhampton region. From sizzling street foods to traditional family recipes passed down through generations, savour the richness of cultures through food. Delight in vibrant performances, parades and art stalls all while embracing the melting pot of tastes and traditions.

Some of the attractions on the day include:
* Coconut husking competition
* Luminous Lantern making workshop and parade by Multicultural Australia
* Community-based food stalls
* Cultural entertainment by community groups
* Midpoint Theatre’s “Settling In” – a presentation of local migrant stories
* Arts and crafts activities
* Cooking display
* Concert by Mzaza from 6.45pm
