A short walk from Clayton Station,
A Taste of Taj offers generous portions of Indian cuisine at student friendly prices.
Immerse in blaring loud Bollywood soundtrack, neon lights, and cafe tables, and enjoy the thrill of choosing from an extensive menu of North, South, East Indian, Pakistan and Indo-Chinese, cuisine!
Excitement in anticipation when greeted with a complimentary jug of cold salty lassi and bowl of hot fried pappadums (unfortunately fried in fish oil). The aromas from others' meals, smiles on their faces, and happy banter, suggested that it was going to be good food here.
masala dosa @ Taste of Taj #BED
I had already decided on South Indian masala dosa, a favourite of mine, a good one difficult to find outside of Asia. The sambar too spicy to eat, and the dosa made me miss Asia!
My dining partners ordered lamb seekh kebab to start. Rich and spicy, with fat and full flavour, not for those watching their heart health! A generous entree portion, enough to feed four!
They then had goat curry with rice. Tasty all meat, no vegetable, curry, ideal for those who like it really hot! We came to realize the provision of the lassi jug - finishing the entire serve!
Open daily from 11am-10:30pm for dine in and take away, Taste of Taj is best for those on a budget, wanting a sample taste of india. Located at 151 Carinish Road, conveniently positioned opposite Clayton Station.
