In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the Taste of Melbourne festival is expanding, becoming bigger and even better as it celebrates not only Melbourne's famous food culture, but also our highly esteemed fashion designers and artists. Being held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground's Yarra Park from Thursday 30th November to Sunday 3rd December 2017 this massive outdoor dining festival is a feast for both foodies and food lovers alike.

As music and food go hand in hand, and Melbourne has a reputation for yielding the best of both, festival goers are going to be spoilt for choice throughout this mammoth 4-day event.

It will be elements on from 5.30pm on Thursday 30th November and from then the Taste of Melbourne festival is going to be bubbling on high simmer until 5pm on Sunday 3rd December. Starting at noon each day, come enjoy lunch and dinner, really indulging in the offerings of some of our city's finest cooks, chefs, food, beer and wine producers.

Samples and meals will be sold by the dish ranging from $6 to $12 each with special, "Icon Dishes" priced between $15 and $25 per plate. Please note: No BYO food or drink is permitted into the festival with the exception of sealed bottles of water.

The Taste of Melbourne festival will include heaps of additional entertainment including live cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, hands-on cooking classes and, of course, heaps of live music. Unleash your inner party animal for the opening night Birthday Bash on Thursday 30th November. This year, as the event is celebrating its 10th birthday, there will be sparklers and cake, canapés and sweet treats and heaps of free-flowing wine.

In a very special event, learn how to 'craft' the perfect croissant and more in the Lurpak Bakery section. Experience the 'essence' of the Mediterranean in the Estrella Damm Bar and indulge in the taste of India with Kingfisher Lager in the Kingfisher Bar. For those who prefer to mingle with a smaller crowd, purchase a VIP ticket to the Taste Luxe Lounge then sit back with a cocktail or glass of bubbles in the VIP lounge and garden.

Take a stroll through the Taste of Melbourne Marketplace and shop some of Australia's premium culinary products along with bespoke artisan products from some of our state's finest artists, makers and producers. Then the accompanying Producers' Collection is a more intimate market experience, providing patrons with a boutique brand shopping experience of hand picked local wares to sample and buy.

Sit down with some hospitality industry veterans to hear their success stories as they provide a rare insight into what makes Melbourne's restaurant culture a cut above the rest, then distil your own gin with the Archie Rose Distilling Co.

Tickets to the Taste of Melbourne festival can be purchased through Ticketek online or by phoning 13 28 49 from October. This is a family friendly event and everyone is welcome to attend, however people under the age of 18 years need to be accompanied by an adult as this is a licensed event. Children 14 years and under are admitted free.

Taste of Melbourne is being held at the MCG, entry through Gate 5 off Punt Road. There will be limited onsite parking for $10, time restricted. Better options include public transport to the venue. This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions as the venue will include some covered marquee areas.
