As one of the most diverse gastronomic experiences on offer in Western Australia, the annual Taste Great Southern Festival returns in 2015 from Thursday 19th February to Sunday 29th March in various locations throughout the Great Southern region of Western Australia, including Albany, Denmark, Mt Barker, Porongurup, Onegerup and Katanning.


As IGA's 11th annual food and wine festival, Taste Great Southern Festival is a massive gastronomic, vinous and performing arts fiesta for everybody serious about their food and drink. Designed to create awareness of the diversity and richness of produce that each region of the Great Southern brings to the whole of Western Australia, the festival encourages visitors to focus on the passionate artisan producers who are collectively forging the region's reputation as one of Australia's most exciting and dynamic food and wine regions.

The festival features and is structured around a huge line-up of events, guests, local celebrity chefs and favourite food personalities that highlight each of the Great Southern's sub-regions, showcasing individual and exclusive food and wine offerings. There will be over 70 individual events held across the region, ranging from farmers markets, pop up dinners, guest chef cooking demonstrations, degustation dinners, beach BBQs and picnics that will be hosted at vineyards, restaurants and public venues.


Signature highlights headlining the festival include the Albany Oyster Festival, the Plantagenet Fair, the Mount Barker Graze, Rockcliffe Night Harvest Market, the Sustainable Seafood Fiesta, the annual Porongurup Wine Festival and its 'One Wok Wonder' cook-off and Around the World on 80 Barbies. In addition to food and drink-related events, there will also be stunning performances from the 2015 Perth International Arts Festival program to top off a massive food and wine experience.
