If you're a short filmmaker or know one, alert them to the Stories of Tasmania Short Film Competition. BOFA (Breath of Fresh Air) is inviting short filmmakers to explore what it means to be Tasmanian. What is unique and specific about Tasmanian culture? What can only happen here on this island? They're looking for stories of Tasmania that capture that difference, that special something. Regular deadline is on 28 March 2021. The notification date is 18 April and event date is 3-30 May 2021.

So if you have stories of Tasmanians with ideas, people who have gone outside the ordinary, people who have followed their passions and taken a risk, people who have collaborated to create something extraordinary, and people who have fought to protect what makes this place different, they want to hear from you. You'll find all the details here.

The top 20 stories will be screened at the free BOFA Online Film Festival (3-30 May) and the invite goes out to all and the expert judging panel, to vote for your favourites. The top three short films will win cash prizes (courtesy of Tourism Tasmania and Brand Tasmania) and Forty South magazine subscriptions. Filmmakers and film lovers will be invited to the Awards Presentations on Saturday 29th May in Hobart. Whether you're a proud Tasmanian or someone who loves Tasmania, now's a great time to sample for yourself what makes Tasmania different and special! Come Down For Air.

Funding a FREE online film festival is never easy. BOFA are looking for your support for two theme categories they have chosen the film for, but have less than the support they need. They are the flagship Stories of Us category with films such as the inspirational Rosemary's Way, telling Local Hero Australian of the Year, Rosemary Kriuki's amazing story; and By Design with films like the documentary of the life of Alvar Aalto. Any amount is helpful no matter how small, it will be greatly appreciated. They can offer Deductible Gift Recipient status to make the donation tax free at Australian Cultural Fund - Free online Film Festival. Your generosity is appreciated.
