On Tarton Road, Holden Hill, this small park is a small diversion if you find yourself in the area.

It consists of a small playground, a grassed area and a half-court basketball court (which has recently been done up).

Compared to Bentley Reserve not far away, there seems to be little to offer at this park, especially with it being on a reasonably busy road, but the park is rarely used during the day and so it gives children who are a little shy or nervous a chance to use a playground without feeling intimidated.

The basketball court seems to be the most used aspect of the park, and it is not uncommon to see older children playing a quick one-on-one game here after school.

There is a tendency for users to ignore the rubbish bins, and there have been occasions when we have gone to use the playground but broken bottles have prevented my children from doing so. However, since the refurbishment of the basketball court, apparently some of the local residents have taken it upon themselves to keep the park tidier. So far, so good, and I hope they can keep it up.

With benches and a water fountain, it is a nice enough spot to spend half an hour or so with the children.
