If you know me, you'll know I LOVE food. I am not speaking of love like that-new-tv-show-you've-just-watched-a-season-in-a-day type of love, I am talking on par with my long term partner love.

Most days you'll find me eating, in the kitchen creating new recipes or just thinking about food in general. This is why recently when a colleague asked "Do you like dirty food?", I was slightly stumped. I tend to eat quite healthy and conjured up images of Man vs. Food so my answer was "not really".

This was before I had my first taste of Tartine jaffles. Yes, yes, don't give me a lecture, I understand the place is named 'Tartine' not 'Jaffle' for a reason. The day I first dined there however, it was a cold wintery day so a Jaffle seemed like a perfect fit.


I ordered the Nacho jaffle, which is just as the name suggests- an oozy mix of re-fried beans, salsa, cheese, avocado, sour cream and corn chips. Now that is what you call damn satisfying dirty food. I had to take one away for my partner so I chose him the Pizza jaffle which did not disappoint.

I must admit I went back numerous times in the weeks following. The Chef was my favourite, which was a mix of leg ham, bacon, egg, triple cheese, BBQ sauce and sriracha sauce. The chilli cheese dog - a mix of hot-dog, chili con carne and cheese was equally as satisfying. If you have a sweet tooth, they also have Mars Bar and Nutella, as well as Nutella, banana and marshmallow jaffles, plus a range of pastries on offer. *Currently drooling onto my laptop whilst writing this.*

Admittedly, I am yet to try a Tartine; I am too hooked on the jaffles!

So what is a Tartine you ask? It is a french style open sandwich and they look pretty delicious. There are a range of flavours on offer from smoked salmon to pulled pork.


Located in Mascot, these guys are open from 8am-3pm Monday-Saturday and 9am-3pm Sunday and provide parking. It is worth mentioning the service as well, as it is never anything but welcoming.
