There is no denying that on a trip to the zoo, everyone has their favourite animal. They're the one that you linger at for that bit longer, and snap a few extra photos of before you're dragged away. There are so many wonderful, interesting, and majestic animals at Taronga Zoo, that sometimes picking just one can be a little hard. That is exactly what we're asking you to do, because we're looking for Taronga Zoo's best animal, and we need your help.
Every time an animal has a baby, their popularity soars, so it won't be very surprising to see the tigers pretty high on the list. With three energetic bundles now added to the tiger family, these guys sure pack a crowd. Of course tigers were a good choice even before the young ones came along, they are beautiful creatures, and you'll often get to see them up close as they make their way past the glass.
Some other babies that just keep getting bigger and bigger, are of course the elephants. You might love all the elephants, the giant mammals are breathtaking to watch, especially when they decide to go for a dip in the pool. Of all the elephants it has to be said that the two youngest members are definitely the most entertaining to watch. They're always looking for new things to play with, which more often then not ends with someone getting caught up in a big rubber tyre.
Perhaps you prefer to head straight to the monkeys. They are cheeky creatures, and it is always fun to watch them running around and interacting with each other. They always seem to be having a good time, and that is one thing that makes them so much fun to watch. Heading from monkeys to apes, the gorillas should also be pretty high on the list. One of the most remarkable things about these animals is how similar they can appear to humans. Whether you're watching a mum with her baby, or just the young gorillas play fighting, it is clear to see how close we really are.
So are any of these fine animals your favourite to go and see? Or if not make sure you tell us who is. You might enjoy seal shows, or like heading straight for the king of the jungle, or perhaps you prefer to stay a bit closer to home. Deep down we love them all, but we want to know which animal is your must-see at Taronga Zoo.
