Tara Kadampa is a pleasantly renovated old Queenslander, located centrally in Highgate Hill. Why not West End? Too busy? Having opened its holy doors in July 2011, it's not even a year old yet, but it got straight to work and into things as Buddhism does and Buddhists do.

Buddhist spiritual leaders and teachers are amazing people. They are tranquil in the midst of chaos and serene in the midst of turbulence. They have inner gentle streams and forests where coloured birds sing.

I read about the Dalai Lama and I admired him. He must be one of the smartest men on earth, he can hold his own at global conferences on an intellectual and spiritual level. He has the Nobel peace prize and he remains humble. He is wise and I have devoured his teachings. I have not embraced all of Buddhism but I have found direction.

The leader at the centre is a Buddhist nun, Kelsang Tsaldennum who teaches and nurtures others as they tread their personal spiritual pathways. Meditation classes for all levels are available, there is merchandise and a free monthly news letter.

Buddhism has beauty and substance and is a means to inner change. We all struggle. So, if like I was, you are battered and burnt out, take a look at this sweet website.
