Have you been to the new Westfield Chermside restaurant precinct yet? Well, it has been opened for a year now, but I hadn't had the chance to go. And have you had a chance to check out the ?

We had the chance to eat and drink here last weekend and would recommend it as a place to catch up with friends or family when shopping or at the end of the day.

Tapworks is a relaxed and casual place to try one of their 30 craft beers on tap. The beer is divided into 3 categories - beers you know and love, beers worth trying and beers for the adventurous drinkers. They offer a beer flight for $20, which is your choice of four 200ml beers from their craft beer range.

Our daughter choose her beers by their names.

Even if you aren't a beer drinker, Tapworks also have a good selection of wine, spirits, cocktails as well as non-alcoholic drinks.

Don't forget the food. Their menu is full of wonderful culinary options including small bites, meals, burgers, char grill steaks, housemade schnitzels and salads.

There is a good range for all tastes to go with the drinks and some are made for sharing.

We ordered 3 small bites for $25 which included beer battered onion rings, crispy skin pork belly and spicy chicken wings (5) which is good for a shared entree.

My son ordered 10 spicy chicken wings just for himself and was able to finish all of them with finger licking satisfaction.

Our daughter ordered the ribeye steak with mash potato and salad ($35). The steak was perfectly cooked and tender to cut.

My choice was the chargrilled vegatable salad with grilled beef. This was a tasty and colourful array of grilled mushrooms, sweet potato, pumpkin, zucchini, broccoli, green beans, snow peas, kale, semi-dried tomatoes with smoked capsicum olive oil dressing ($22).

Tapworks have both indoor and some outdoor seating area which lends itself to a place to just drop in when passing by.

Things to know - order at the bar, free parking after 6pm, opens until late most nights of the week, reservation taken for larger groups and they cater to dietary needs such as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian.

Well, if you haven't had a chance to check it out, then do yourself a favour and stop in for a brew or two.
