A great place to stay right near the wine belt
Arriving into Tanunda, we found the Tanunda Caravan and Tourist park very easy to locate. It is situated right on the corner as you enter the village.

We were expecting it to be a normal average caravan park and therefore had no lofty expectations.

However we were very surprised to find that we were very impressed with this caravan park.

Most of the sites seem to be particularly level which is a great advantage for caravans and RVs. We needed no adjustments for a pleasant night sleep.

The grounds are well maintained and clean and as soon as we arrived the children were off and running about playing.

We were fortunate enough to arrive on a public holiday and discovered to our delight that evening they had a large size outdoor cinema where we could watch movies for free.

Next to this is a jumping cushion, a playground and a swimming pool for the children (and adults).

You can see the cabins tucked away on the other side of the river/creek bed

They have a kitchen and recreation hall with activities for the children and a television.

There are two outdoor kitchens and one indoor  kitchen all were very clean during our visit.

As well as on-site powered and unpowered site they also have a range of cabins from budget to quite luxurious.

There's a locked back gate that you can exit with a code and walk to the local village.

[ADVERT]We arrived reasonably late at night and as we were tired and did not want to cook so we made a phone call to the local pizza restaurant and they delivered it to the gates within 25 minutes (just in time for our movie we were watching). See my review on Amanti Pizzas for a review on our dinner.

Thanks to the new iPhone App "Find a Park", Tanunda Caravan and Tourist Park has been awarded the seventh best caravan park in Australia.
