Located along Millennium Esplanade, Tannum Sands, not only offers a long sandy beach for a nice stroll but also a tidal rock pool to search crabs, little fish and sea snails. The water is very clear as this area is part of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.





is patrolled during September/October, Christmas and Easter school holidays, weekends and public holidays from September to May. As with many of beaches around Queensland, you can find warnings about crocodiles and jellyfish along this beach as well.





does not allow dogs but further up at Canoe Point, not far from Main Beach, you can bring your furry friends and they can play on the beach off-leash.





There are several entries to the beach area, some with shower cubicle facilities and some only with a tap to rinse off your feet. You can also find some amenity blocks and a drinking water fountain along the esplanade. Plenty of parking spots.
