Park With Stunning Harbour Views
Tania Park is located in Sydney's northern beaches suburb Balgowlah. This stunning park, with plenty of green open spaces and incredible views is popular amongst locals, especially those with canine friends.

Overlooking Sydney Harbour, it is an ideal picnic and BBQ spot and on New Year's Eve perfect for watching fireworks.

The park has everything you may need for a great day out – an enclosed and sheltered playground for young children, an electric BBQ located near the playground, change room, seats, toilets, water taps and lots of room to play ball games or fly a kite.

Parking is available all around the park and there are several walking tracks for those wishing to get some exercise. Dogs are allowed off the leash, except in the vicinity of the playground, so this park is perfect for those with young children, older children and pets.

On the weekends, the oval at Tania Park is used for soccer games in winter and cricket in summer. The park can be hired from Manly Council, for personal development sessions and classes such as yoga, meditation, tai chi, personal training, and other well-being leisure and sporting activities. Contact Manly Council on (02) 9976 1500 for more information.

The only thing missing is a café/kiosk, so bring coffee, snacks or a lunch with you, although you can always drive to Condamine Street, which has plenty of cafes, restaurants, take away shops and even supermarkets.

So if you want somewhere different to escape this weekend, why not pack a picnic basket and head over to Tania Park.

Here are some ideas for great picnic and BBQ treats:

Barbecued sausage rolls with caramelised onions

Brie and asparagus tart

Buffalo wings

Cheese and chutney mini muffins

Chicken and asparagus rolls

And for something sweet:

Basic buttermilk scones

Blueberry cream cheese muffins

Whole orange cake

Jumbo cookies

Cookies and cream fudge
