The TANEC ensemble, warmly regarded as the ambassadors of Macedonian folklore, are revered in folk dancing circles and competitions worldwide, having performed over 4500 concerts and captivating audiences of all ages with vibrant costumes dating back 150 years.
They are a highly respected symbol of the Macedonian folklore, tradition and culture stretching back for 7 decades, proudly performing in their home country and abroad. TANEC may be considered a 'mobile museum' of the most beautiful, precious and ancient Macedonian material and nonmaterial folklore heritage, and costumes, with unique embroideries, that represents the core of Macedonian identity deeply curved in the conscience of Macedonians.
In November, they will be performing as part of their 70 Year Jubilee celebrations. This captivating event will showcase an array of high energy dances and slow, controlled dances that defy the laws of physics themselves. Each dance tells a story of a much simpler time in Macedonia with intriguing cultural nuances. Your eyes, ears and soul will experience a journey through time, with a mesmerising display of passionate song and athletic dance. They will be performing with a 10-piece orchestra of traditional Macedonian folk instruments, choir, singers and over 20 precision dancers that must be seen to be believed. It is set to be an electrifying performance, no doubt.
