Hand feed the joeys, talk to the emus and dance with the peacocks at this fun filled animal park. Entry is free to the well tended bush oasis with its own free flight aviary, wheel chair access and bush walking tracks connecting to Oxley Lookout, Flagstaff Mountain, Tamworth Botanic Garden and The Miniature Railway. The whole park covers 14 hectares of mainly virgin bushland and is great place to stop off with children.

The Marsupial Park is conveniently located at the top end of Brisbane Street, in Endeavor Park, 2 kms from Tamworth CBD. Children will enjoy exploring the Adventure Playground, and sand pit area while adults make use of the free gas and wood fire BBQs in the shady picnic area. We loved searching for King Parrots, Sulpher Crested Cockatoos, Wonga Pigeons, White Headed Doves and Bronzewigs in the enormous aviary. Watching the emus roam their huge enclosure was another highlight. The Marsupial Park is completely maintained on a daily basis by a small, dedicated group of volunteers, who were busily planting and mulching the day of our visit.

A visit to would make the perfect outing for anyone with nature lovers in the family. If you're feeling peckish after all that excitement, stop in for afternoon tea at Weswal Cafe and Gallery (located just outside the park gates) on your way home.
