The Bicentennial Park on the banks of the Peel River is a great spot to come and enjoy all Tamworth has to offer.
There is a playground for the young kids, as well as plenty of open space for them to run around. There are also several sporting fields and a swimming pool in the area.
Explore around one of the pond and you will discover the hidden carvings on the rocks that surround the pond, as well as going through the middle. I am sure it would take several visits to locate all the carvings.
You could not have a park like this and not celebrate the country music stars that have made January in Tamworth a must be location. So there is a row of Busts of some of the stars that are jamming away in Country music heaven, as well as a stage for the up and coming stars.
Near another duck pond there is a statue celebrating the Australian horses that went to the early wars we were involved in, but never returned. There is also some other war memorials in the park.
When you have finished exploring all this park has to offer, there is a bicycle \ walkway on the river bank that will lead you to an outdoor fitness track if you are feeling energetic. This is a very popular spot for the joggers and cyclists.
Of cause you can just have a relaxing walk along the river or you could take your dog for their daily walk if you wish.
