I am a lover of live comedy, engrossing films, scenic hikes, social enterprises, delicious food and unique experiences. I write about the many ways people can give back to causes they care about here: thethriftyphilanthropist.com

Eat good food, do good things
Tamil Feasts is a three night a week communal style dinner option held at CERES Community Environment Park. Previously only held on Monday and Tuesday nights, Tamil Feasts adds Fridays into the mix as of the 19th of August.
This social enterprise employs recently settled Sri Lankan asylum seekers who serve up delicious traditional Sri Lankan meals for patrons who not only enjoy delicious food, but are keen to support people who are currently seeking asylum in Australia and may be finding it tough.
Bookings are essential as there is limited capacity and you can only book online up to 2pm on the day of the feast. This is also where you can select your menu option - non-vegetarian, vegetarian, vegan or children's feast. The menu is constantly changing so once is never enough!
This is not your typical restaurant. Tamil Feasts is an opportunity to dine in a more intimate setting with other socially-conscious foodies. Seating is around long communal tables and all meals are served at the same time - starters from 6:30pm and the main meal at 7pm. So don't be late!
