If you're like me and don't mind a spot of bush walking to get the old blood pumping then take a drive up to Tamborine Mountain, and visit Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, here you have the opportunity to go on short bushwalk, but this one has a bit of a twist, instead of walking on a bush track you will be walking 30 metres above the ground along a steel structured bridge overlooking the canopy of the rainforest while underneath watch a creek flow and see how the trees start.

If you like heights then this is the walk for you, the majority of the walk is along a specially built steel bridges, with the canopy of the rainforest at eye level so you can see what trees look like from up high. It's quite an exhilarating experience, one that I recommend to anyone who likes a little adventure or something outside of the norm.

There is an education piece involved as well which is helpful if you have kids and want to show them about the different trees and animals in the area. Plaques are situated along the walk with tree names so that you can learn a little about them along the way, there is also further information and displays about different specifies of spiders and insects in the reception area.

The drive up the mountain is quite steep and windy and can take a bit of time. There is plenty of parking near the entrance of the reception; also at the entrance to the walk is a gift shop and a café where you can grab a bite to eat before or after your eco friendly adventure. The staff are both friendly and helpful in answering questions you might have.

If you've been to the Gold Coast before or live on the coast, then you would know that there are lots of different tourists' attractions, awesome shopping options and theme parks to visit. Skywalk is a one place that I suggest you visit for something a little different.
