The Tallowwood View Trail is one of three walking trails at Redlands Indigiscapes.

This trail is wheelchair friendly, being almost completely flat and well-maintained, and should only take about 10 minutes to walk in each direction.

Despite the short distance of this trail, there is a lot to see. The forest floor is a good place to view wildflowers in late winter and early spring, and a number of koalas are resident in the treetops. Eastern water dragons are frequently seen near creek crossings.

Towards the end of the walk is a gigantic, 400-year-old tallowwood tree. Tallowwood trees were named for the greasy feel of their wood when it is cut, and are one of the tree species favoured by koalas.

Beyond the tallowwood tree is a lake with an abundance of birdlife, freshwater turtles, and eastern water dragons. Indigiscapes request that anyone wanting to feed them bring cut seedless grapes, frozen peas and corn, or chopped lettuce since bread makes wildlife sick and pollutes their water.

There are a variety of seating options along this walk which provide perfect rest stops or play spaces for children.

The walk begins and ends at the Redlands Indigiscapes Discovery Centre and Cafe. Why not stop in for a refreshment after your walk?
