The Tallong Apple Day Festival is a great day to buy apples and associated products, and to have an interesting, informative and fun day in Tallong. It will be held on 6th May, 2018 starting at 9.00 am.
Tallong is a village within the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales and in the Goulburn-Mulwaree Council. The village is located just outside the southern extremity of the Southern Highlands region.

FOOD STALLS
There will be the following food stalls:
Twist Potatoes on a stick
There will be cooking demonstrations at 11.30 am by The Hyatt Hotel, Canberra Executive Chef, Nitin Kumar, with assistance from the Chef De Cuisine, Shaji Veetil.
They will give you a display of apple treats with recipes and samples in the Tallong Hall.
PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
The categories are as follows:
1. Primary School
2. High School
3. Open
4. Open to all entrants- Favourite Pet
Photographs must be taken by exhibitor within previous 12 months. A title should be displayed above the image.
First 3 categories are open to any photograph- no restrictions. The 4th category is a photo of your pet. This section is open to all entrants.
Photo's may be black and white OR colour
All photographs to be printed 6x4" (15x10cms - standard print) mounted on A4 sized black cardboard. NO FRAMES.
Limit of 5 entries per exhibitor.
The event will be judged by local professional photographer, Magnus Agren, judging categories 1-3;
Cooinda Veterinary Clinic, judging category 4
MRS T'S BAKE OFF COMPETITION
The categories are as follows
Primary schools:
1. Cakes, biscuits, muffins, cupcakes, or slices
2. Pies, tarts, or pastries
Secondary schools & Adults:
1. Cakes, cupcakes or muffins (small items 6 per tray)
2. Pies, tarts, pastries (small items 6 per tray)
3. Jams, pickles, chutneys, sauces or jelly
All items must be covered in clear plastic on a non-returnable plate
All entries are to be donated to the Tallong Apple Day Committee for sale to the public on the day
APPLE PIE EATING COMPETITION
This competition is sponsored by Trappers Bakery and judged by Goulburn Trophies and Sportswear Centre.
The Apple Pie Eating Competition is a popular annual event where participants will compete in a round, the winner of which will compete in the final.
Places are limited and names can only be taken on the day.
Categories are:
Child- 5- 15 years
Adult- 16 -100 years
FLEECE TO GARMENT COMPETITION
This year's theme is puppets, felter's comp wall hanging, and spin the longest thread, all of which will be held on the main street of the festival - this is always a very popular part of the festival!
For the first time this year, there will be a "Witches Brew Mega Weave" which is a group spinning activity.
For this, there will be teams of spinners, felters and weavers who come from all over in order to compete for the perpetual trophies.
CONCLUSION
There will, of course, be food, food and more food including all things apple such as apple pies, and different varieties of apples.
