Tall Order Giraffe Encounter at Werribee Zoo

A picture is worth a thousand words.
I have been lucky enough to do this experience twice. Once with a close friend and when I took my Mum as a Mother's day gift. It's definitely a unique day out.
Kids are allowed and encouraged to do this experience too. I will definitely be bringing my kids in the future. The only condition with taking the kids is that children under 8 years require a ratio of 1 child to 1 adult.
You arrive at the Werribee Zoo and get on one of the smaller shuttles which takes you out to where the Giraffes sleep - the keepers tell us about the Giraffes and where they sleep, their health, what they eat and a bit about their personalities.
Then the exciting part happens - the Giraffes come over to meet you - don't worry about missing out as there are a lot of Giraffes here.
You start out feeding the Giraffes long branches.
Then go on to the fruit and pellets. Their tongues are amazing, long and a little sloppy - you can't be too precious. But I guess being here, you are an animal lover.
The tour lasts for 90 minutes and runs on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00am.
The good thing is that the tour includes general admission so you also get to look around the Werribee Zoo - which is always great.
