I am a retired English teacher who has retired from teaching but not from life, which I intend to live to the full. With all my hobbies, I'm busier now than ever with my art groups, small business and gardening.

Don't go dotty, don't go spotty, check your skin today

With the high rate of skin cancer in Australia, checking for blemishes is essential. Do it with a good friend or have a skin specialist do it for you. The earlier skin cancer is spotted, the better.

That's where Australia's leading life insurance specialist, TAL, has made it easier for you with their pop-up skin check clinics initiative across Australia.

The latest popup clinic is at City Beach, in 2 weeks time, on Saturday 24th - Sunday 25th from 9 am until 6 pm. The TAL Spotchecker will be at; Foreshore 3 - City Beach Park Challenger Parade. You can't be too careful and it will only take 15 minutes moreover, it's free.

The problem is, Australians love the outdoors, especially the beach where you can play, swim and surf. After all (in my humble opinion), we do have the best beaches in the world.

Unfortunately, you can have too much sun, potentially triggering off skin cancer and Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.

TAL, Australia's leading life insurance specialist, is calling on all Australians to be aware of sun safety so they can enjoy summer with confidence. You can too by having a skin check. Just think, no long wait in a surgery, no long distance to travel, no taking time off work, only 15 minutes of your time at City Beach.

There are a few old wives tales about sunburn. It's not only at the beach you have to be careful. You can easily get sunburnt when gardening, having a barbeque or hanging out the washing. Take care because it can also happen on cooler or overcast day.

Don't take the risk, be safe this summer and have a free skin spot check at City Beach provided by TAL's Spot Checker.

Visit here to find out more or reserve a place at the TAL SpotChecker pop-up on City Beach. Limited places will also be available for walk-ins over the weekend.

Skin cancer is one of Australia's most common cancers, but it's also one of the most readily detected and with early detection, the most curable.
