The sea turtles need us to do more than just stop using plastic straws to help them to survive and thrive. Spending time swimming in the late evening ocean is a wonderful way to relax. And meditation is very important to find peace of mind. During this swim, you might even get the chance to see some cute turtles or other wildlife. This meditation and swim session
will raise money for turtle conservation and help us to save these at-risk creatures.
You will not be out tagging turtles, this is the name of the not-for-profit organisation that the money will be benefitting. This event is all about grounding yourself and connecting with the ocean. There is an app that you will be encouraged to download that allows all citizens with a smartphone to tag turtles in a non-invasive manner.
During this time at the beach, you will take part in a professionally guided meditation session, to begin with. Then you will be swimming in the ocean, allowing the water to wash away any stress you still have after meditating. Being a part of your environment and finding a place to breathe is a brilliant way to relax and improve both your physical and mental health.
After all of that, light nibbles will be provided. This is an adults-only event. You will learn all about turtles and how to spot them as well, thanks to the app that you can start using whenever you want!
If you want to help raise money for the turtle's cause, then you will want to book yourself some tickets quickly. Tickets are $32.62 (including fees). If you want to help support the ocean wildlife, then you will want to be at Leighton Beach at 5pm on Saturday, February 11th. The event will continue into the night, and won't be ending until 9pm.
