Taco Bill Mexican Restaurants are an Australian owned business with over forty five years experience. They have 35 locally owned and operated restaurants. Wherever possible, they buy products locally and fresh. All of their meat, fruit and vegetables are fresh daily and sourced locally. They pride themselves on providing great value authentic Mexican food.

We had hardly even sat down when a complementary bowl of corn chips and spicy salad arrived at our table. I thought it was an ominous sign about the waiting time but this couldn't have been further from the truth. There was only two of us and we ordered, ate and were out of there in about half an hour. That may not be everyone's idea of a great dining experience but it was perfect for me having a little one in tow who needed to get to bed. She chose the seasoned chips and a taco with meat, cheese and lettuce. It was served with a Mexican flag. This addition was like a birthday present! It was even more special when I didn't get one. She also commented that there was not too much seasoning. I never knew there was such a thing as too much seasoning. It is never enough when I add it to their fish 'n' chips. The kid's meal were very cheap at $5.95. There was a kid's deal with a drink and dessert for under $10.

I chose the vegi enchilada. It was served on a very hot plate with fresh spinach and potato and lots of cheese. I loved the combination and that it was steaming hot. This was only $8.90, so the total bill for two of us was unbelievably under $15! We didn't have dessert but I think that the chocolate taco ($7.90) and the sweet ice-cream nachos sounded interesting. The child's ice-cream and chocolate sauce desserts were only $3.90.

There must be a load of boozers in Greensborough because I noticed that you could get cheap Margaritas on four days of the week. I liked the ideas of the samplers. For just $17 you can try 5 x 110 ml glasses with classic lemon, strawberry, Midori, tropical and pineapple.

The place was very busy for a Thursday night. No one had a sombrero yet but I often see them when I stop at the traffic lights outside the restaurant. They are free with any Pancho Villa (super large) Margarita purchased.

And now for the Daily Specials:

I should comment on the attentive and friendly service. We were greeted at the door, taken straight to a table, served with corn chips immediately, the order was taken and delivered very promptly. When I was admiring a margarita being delivered I caught the waitresses' eye briefly. She detoured over to me to check that I didn't need anything. I saw waitresses disinfectant tables as people left.

Most people probably don't know that Taco Bill also does take-away, catering and home supplies.
