Symbio Zoo is a midsized family owned zoo that houses over 1000 animals, established in 1975. Situation on the southern boundary of The Royal National Park, Symbio is wheelchair/pram friendly and accessible for all ages, with plenty of rest stations.

Popular enclosures include: Sumatran tigers, tamarins and marmoset that are quick as lightening and highly entertaining. Meet the Australian dinosaur descent, the almighty cassowary, koalas (cuddles can be organised), dingoes, lamas, emus, Tasmanian (devilish) devils, echidnas, including a golden echidna, a golden possum and a pure white peacock, not to mention the eagles, goats, ponies and cows, freshwater crocs, a spider monkey and free roaming kangaroos and a goose.

Symbio provide a fantastic educational interactive reptile show - advisable to visit the reptile enclosure before the show. The Reptile show, includes turtles, snakes and alligators, they really know how to engage the audience and the odd prank isn't out of the question. In the snake demonstration area, you will hear a lot of oohs and aahh's.

Symbio provide daily demonstrations, including koala and dingo talks and don't forget to meet the famous Mr Miyagi, an18 year old red panda. Feed times are also advertised.

Many a laugh can be heard from the visitor feeding areas - kangaroos roam free in this area. We were lucky enough to gently touch the outer pouch of a roo with her joey inside - to feel the heartbeat was one in a million opportunity. Move on to their cheeky goat, he definitely will keep you on your toes, so will their goose, which is fantastic with children - then on to the lamas, emus, cows and horse areas, all of which you may feed. Please remember that buying food from the zoo is a better option for the animals and that the money goes towards the animal's upkeep.

Birthday Parties, Group are available and Symbio have built an enclosed BBQ/Swimming Pool area closed off to animals for your leisure. You may bring your own food and you can buy inside at their kiosk.

School incursions are also available;
