As the days draw shorter let your meal times get longer and indulge your tastebuds in the flavour ranges that only three courses can offer. A little bit of extravagance never goes far so long as you know the price beforehand. Here are some of our top picks for enjoyable three-course meals out and out about.

Sydney's South

What better way to escape the working week than to indulge in a meal right on the edge of the water. Cronulla's Summer Salt Restaurant allows you to do just that. Sit back, relax and watch winter roll on over the waves whilst staying warm and full inside behind the floor to ceiling windows. A set menu (also known as the Chef's Market Menu) is available for lunch Monday to Saturday and dinner Sunday to Thursday and will only set you back $51 for three courses. Cuisine spans the pan-Asian/contemporary Australian variety and you will see items such as crispy Thai red curry squid, Beer battered fish, cauliflower soup and orange pudding making appearances on this monthly changing menu.

Sydney's East

Whilst Point Piper may be one of Sydney's most expensive post-codes, the food here doesn't always carry the hefty price-tag that one dining in the area would expect. Local Italian favourite Bei Amici serves up a tantalising 3 course set menu on Mondays for $33. The set menu sees an antipasto dish as a the primi-piatti, freshly-made pasta for secondi and a tantalising sweet treat to round out your triple course meal. With mains normally coming in at $30 each this is a fantastic weekly opportunity to taste the delights served up by one of Sydney's premier chefs and get both quality and quantity.

Sydney's West

For those located in Sydney's West; Parramatta's Peronis Italian Restaurant takes our choice for a Western Sydney dining destination. $30 Tuesday to Fridays or $35 for Saturdays at either lunch or dinner will bring you a delectable three-course Italian fine dining experience. Comprising both indoor and outdoor seating Peroni's allows patrons to take advantage of any special warm winters day; the whole set up extremely charming with the garden surrounds. Pannacotta, snapper, ravioli and more will warm you from the inside out.

Inner Sydney/Sydney City

TAFE training venue The Apprentice is one of our favourites for the inner-city work crew needing a substantial dinner to power them through to the end of the week (reopening in Mid July after holidays). At this Pyrmont venue, not only will you get the opportunity to indulge in 3.5 courses (the .5 being awarded for appetizers prior to the starter) at only $30 per head but you will also be able to experience the abilities of the new up and comers on Sydney's hospitality scene. Fully staffed by TAFE students the quality of all aspects of the restaurant service is overseen by professionals and in truth affords a cohesive and delicious night out at only a fraction of the price one would expect for a multi-course meal.

If you are city-bound the iconic Scarlett Restaurant in The Rocks will charm you not only with its traditional heritage décor (think exposed sandstone and dark timbers; an overall calm and upmarket effect) but with its three-course evening menu offered daily (in addition to the standard a la carte menu). This delicious offer is $49 and offers patrons a choice of entrée, main and dessert inside the Harbour Rocks Hotel's prestigious dining restaurant between 5.30 and 10pm.

When you are looking for a certain 'wow' factor it is hard to beat Australia Square's O Bar & Dining which occupies Level 47 of Australia Square. This revolving bar and restaurant headed by celebrity chef Michael Moore offers up a 3 course lunch special Wednesdays- Fridays that is sure to impress even the most discerning of clients or dates, and if it doesn't, the 360 degree views of Sydney sure will. For $58 you can indulge in 3 courses including the likes of mushroom soup, buffalo ricotta, miso salmon or orange mousse just to name a few. There is a limit of 12 diners per table for the set menu so this is best reserved for smaller more intimate groups.

Sydney's North Shore

If you live on the North Shore you're probably already familiar with buzzing Willoughby Road as a dining destination. However, when you reach the top of Willoughby Road where it intersects with the Pacific Highway you will inevitably come face to face with one of the North Shore's top contemporary Japanese restaurants – Waqu . Dining is available for both lunch and dinner however Thursday to Sunday the hospitable staff serve up a $35 three course lunch special that will have you drooling. White tablecloths, friendly staff and a well-rounded winelist accompany the delightful flavours; this is the place to bring well-heeled clients or a special someone. Soup for entrée, a selection of entres and wagyu based mains are available in the menu that offers quite a bit of choice for a standard set menu

There's nothing more indulgent than a long lazy Saturday lunch by the water no matter the weather. Few venues in Sydney can surpass Ormeggio at The Spit on the North Shore for such a calming and enjoyable dining atmosphere. Popular for wedding receptions the waterfront location ticks all the boxes for daytime dining and we rather think the location is wasted once darkness falls. Fridays and Saturdays see the impeccable team offering a $59 three-course lunch including a glass of wine. Pull up a chair, indulge in fine food and relax watching the boats bob along the sea in this sheltered section of Sydney's coves.
