If you planning a dinner party, having the family around or just want to cook up a storm on the weekend the best place to buy good quality, fresh from the farm produce is Paddy's Market.

Sydney's original market is in two locations Haymarket and Flemington.

For a big shop and the experience of a bustling marketplace where the professional restaurateurs' shop, Flemington is the one.

Located in Western Sydney at Homebush the market is accessible by car with free parking for over 2000 cars on site then paid parking is available.

Follow the signs to Sydney Markets from Parramatta Road, the M4 motorway or Centenary Drive. You can catch a train or the STA #408 bus from Burwood to Flemington City Rail station with a short walk to the markets.

The market place will keep you on your toes with folk lifts racing around and vendors calling out their best produce and prices.

Every single kind of fruit and vegetable in season is available from capsicum, tomatoes, pineapples, spinach, bok choy and so on the list is endless.

The prices are a welcome surprise often less than a dollar for a big bag of salad leaves and vegetables. Other stalls on site include cheese, toiletries and clothing.

If you don't feel like leaving the city the Haymarket location is on the corner of Sussex and Hay Street and is a five minute walk from either Town Hall or Central train station.

Where you will find a huge array of diverse stalls, from seafood, fruit and vegetables, flowers, fashion, souvenirs, CDs, home wares and electrical goods.

The buzzing marketplace is an experience in itself to visit. Located in Chinatown you could be forgiven for thinking you had been transported to Bangkok or Hong Kong with stalls selling fake designer hand bags and Chinese decorative arts such as jade jewellery.

The market is located in the lower basement floor of the Market City shopping centre which is full of bargains, the higher levels have an array of factory outlets such as Bracewell and speciality stores like Cotton On.

If all the shopping has left you ravenous there is a food court and restaurants on level three and outside Chinatown has an abundance of restaurants especially Yum Cha to choose from.

If all that shopping has made you want to drop there is a Reading cinema to relax and watch the latest films in on level 3.
