Choose from over 100,000 titles and help Lifeline save lives.

Knox Grammar, Wahroonga, Thu 18 – Sun 21 July.

Sydney's biggest and best-loved book fair is back and it's bigger than ever! Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury is giving avid readers and serious book collectors from far and wide the chance to hunt for unbelievable bargains and rare gems among more than 100,000 high-quality books for sale over four days.

Every category imaginable is represented—from General Fiction, Crime, Romance, Sci-fi/Fantasy, Literature, Art, YA and Children's to Science, Military, Art/Media/Technology, Travel, Architecture, Cookery, Craft, Music and Gardening. A staggering array of textbooks and study guides, comics, DVDs, CDs, vinyls and computer games will also be on offer.

One of the annual event's major drawcards is the Silent Auction of Rare/Unusual/Collectible books. This year, the Wahroonga Book Fair is delighted to present a showcase of treasures donated by a collector of Terry Pratchett books and memorabilia — 11 signed volumes, 2 Discworld calendars and a printed portrait of the author himself. A unique offering for ardent fans of the best-selling fantasy novelist and celebrated creator of the Discworld series.

Also featured in this Special Editions category are:

  • 20 leather-bound volumes by Charles Dicken.

  • an 1864 edition of Gray's Anatomy (complete with a medico's hand-written margin notations).

  • a brand-new Folio Society edition of The Four Gospels with engravings by Eric Gill.

  • a 16-volume set of Richard F. Burton's translation of The Arabian Nights.

  • a three-volume set of Dante's The Divine Comedy.

  • a first edition of Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

  • The Lost Diggers, a stunning archive of intimate portraits of Australian WWI soldiers.

  • a 50th-anniversary edition of Howl, Allen Ginsberg's seminal introduction to the Beat Generation.

  • monographs on Margaret Preston, Charles Blackman, Wassily Kandinsky, Ian Fairweather.

  • Birds of Australia by John Gould, including 73 exquisite coloured plates.

  • a 1938 reprint of Captain Watkin Tench's A Narrative of the Expedition to Botany Bay.

(A full list of all items available for Silent Auction will be posted two weeks before the book fair on www.lifelineh2h.org.au)

So don't miss Sydney's favourite and biggest book fair of the year! All money raised will go towards Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury's crisis support and suicide prevention programs, including the 24/7 telephone crisis hotline, community aid, and group counselling for people struggling with gambling, hoarding, financial issues, suicide bereavement and much more.
