If you're looking for a fun playground to take the kids to, you're usually looking for a bit more than just a set of swings and a slide. But what is it that makes a playground great? It can come down to good design that facilitates imaginative play, or fun equipment that the kids can't get enough of. We know there are some brilliant places all over Sydney that your kids just love, so let us know all about them as we look for Sydney's best playground.
Sydney Park is a good place to start. This sprawling playground has fun and innovative design, which results in a landscaped playground for children to explore. They can enjoy things like rock climbing, or trampling over the suspension bridge, or stick to the usuals like the swings and slides. There is even a fantastic sandpit for them to enjoy. If they've had enough of the equipment they can also head to the bike path to practice their riding. There is even a kiosk for when you run out of snacks.
Another park, that has drawn about as much excitement as it has criticism, is the
King George Park Constellation Playspace. This playground does its job, and has created an exciting playspace for children to explore and enjoy. Unfortunately locals believe it is bringing too much noise to their local area. There are fun spinning disks, giant swings, large slides, toddler play equipment, and a flying fox among other fun things. Is it enough that this playground is fun for the kids, or does it need to work for the local community to?
The Adventure playground at
Bicentennial Park is another one that ticks all the boxes. Here you'll find fun equipment for both younger and older children to explore, and some lovely picnic spots for mum and dad. This shaded playground has fun climbing frames, as well as a great sandpit that younger kids will especially love. The great thing about this playground is that it's also close to other fun areas of Bicentennial Park, such as the fountains in the water play area. This is a great visit for mum and dad, and the kids.
