Is there anything more Australian than a meat pie? If there is, I'm yet to find it.

Finding a pie that blends golden, flaky pastry and a deliciously juicy filling is a moment that can reduce grown men to tears. Once you find the bakery or cafe that makes the pie of your dreams, nothing else even comes close. Some will even drive halfway across the city just to wrap their mouth around that perfect package with sauce on top.

But where is Sydney's best meat pie?
The perfect meat pie is unbeatable.

I'm not talking about something you'd find in a fancy restaurant, or anything gourmet that you'd have to fork out a lot for. I'm talking about simple, honest, eat-in-your-hand meat pies. The sort of thing you eat straight out of the paper bag in the car because you can't wait to get it home.
Stopping eating to take these photos was like torture.

The Upper Crust at Collaroy is always packed with pie-seeking punters, as is Surry Hills' Bourke Street Bakery. Dinky-Di Pies & Pastries is another establishment I've heard rave reviews about, while I couldn't write an article about pies without mentioning Harry's Cafe de Wheels in Woolloomooloo.

So what do you think? Where is Sydney's best meat pie?

Woolworths... I'd prefer a nice Sargents pie (home made/warmed)... the smell that wafts through the house... and when it's golden brown...AND the sargent's label... mmm... the first things to go... oh yum. I want a Sargents now.

Its not in Sydney at all but far surpasses any pie I have tried here..if your ever on a trip down the South Coast, stop at the Rainbow Pie Shop in Milton(3 hrs south of Sydney). Well worth it, no other pie will ever compare..
